At the Beach; Ootd × chitchat

“Move out of your comfort zone…you can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new”

“I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy, i’m telling you it’s going to be worth it.”

As the year 2016 began, one of my resolutions was to get out of my comfort zone and do something spontaneously like going out whether i have company or not. This came to pass this saturday when i decided to go to the beach for swimming. I can’t believe the two & something years  i have been here, i have never swam!! so this time i had to do it before i go back to uganda.

I always stare at  the beach while in the bus to work but  always felt reluctant to go swimming because i have no one else willing to join me(different work schedules & distance).

The last time i went to the beach i  just did a youtube vlog of the whole beach but did not literally swim. By the way i used to swim while back home in Uganda and it really helped me to stay in shape. When i came here in 2014, crazy work schedules got in my way meeh..

So when i reached at the beach, i realised that i wasn’t the only one who came swimming solo(this gave me boldness & hope). There were various ladies who also came alone & they didn’t give a damn what others had to think of them.

Among the ladies, was this Russian(Mondovian) girl called Natalie with whom we clicked & the rest was history. We had a great time with each other, she even told me about another beach that i didn’t know and we went there too on the same day(was 10 minutes drive from where we were)!!…the day was full of laughters & getting to know each other. Next thing i know, we are exchanging whatsup numbers. Let me just say, i made a new swimming buddy…yay.

Not all the time i have gone out i have been lucky to have good company, often times i end up regretting why i even went out of the house in the first place but still i had faith and Saturday gave me so much hope.

About my outfit, i wore pink leggings, wide armed blouse with beaded sandles and summer hat & sealed off the look with my beach bag. As we all know  beach and summer time means bright colors…this outfit gave me life not forgeting this beautiful ocean that drove my stress away.

Do you ever go out/hang out alone?  Any experiences or tips you would like to share? let me know in the comments section below.
