God has brought you through before, and he will bring you through again. Make a decision, each day, to choose faith over Fear-Joel Osteen
I have been living in fear lately, fear for what the future holds for my life and i know we all have fears right? but after reading this quote am strengthened that my God knows my future, for there is no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper(Isaiah 54:17)…
Fear of disapointment, premature death, accidents & diseases etc is not our portion for he who is in us is greater than he who is in the world(1 John 4:4)
So lets live our lives in the present and not in the past..whatever happened yesterday let it stay there and lift your head up high with assurance that God is in control over your life. You’re protected under the blood of Jesus and everything is going to be fine.
So i have been eyeing this ankara & Dashiki African Print style trend for a long time now and it really intrigues me so much. I love how colorful it is, the print geometrics, patterns, florals just makes your outfit scream High Fashion.
This trend is damn flexible, you can wear it any way you want…as a blouse, skirt, pants, even in accessories like scarfs, shoes, bags to mention but a few.
Before this kitenge(as it is popularly known in uganda) was mostly worn by our mothers,Fathers and grandparents, and i personally never wished to wear it because the way it was tailored was so old fashioned but now.. fashion designers have revamped this material in all styles that even celebrities & Socialites like rihannah, beyounce,Alicia keys are rocking the hell out of this Print in their music videos.
I like the way fashion lovers style the ankara outfits, from casual while going for brunch, church to formal while going to office. You can wear it any way you like.
Unfortunately i can not find any ankara outfit here(maybe i haven’t searched enough) but come October when i go back in Uganda, gonna get my self some ankara pieces to rock on my Jeans, skirts and more looks.
What do you think of this trend? Do you own a piece of this African print? Let me know in the comments section below.
