I have alot of things to be thankful for in this year, obviously am alive and kicking so thats one reason to glorify God for the gift of life. Apart from Life, something happened in my life that turned my life around and i can not thank God enough.

I will never forget the 12th September 2015,when my Sweet heart officially visited(kukyaala) my home village to meet my family.

This was such a turning point in my life,it was like a dream come true. With the history of unhealthy relationships i encountered in my life that left me broken to the point of never believing in love again, i never thought i would find such a wonderful man who has swept me off my feet..Love you boo boo.

Reaching to that stage where you decide to take a man you have been dating for some good time to your family to see him,it means that you have made a choice to spend the rest of your life with him, you trust him fully, to be called  your Mr. Right, because he treats you right and thats what it is to it.

Official Visitation is where the boyfriend visits the girl’s home to express his official desire of marrying her  to her parents.  So he comes to the girl’s family to ask for her hand in marriage. The girl’s Parents either say Yes or No.

The dresscode in such a ceremony is traditional where the women wear tradition attire called “gomesi” and men wear “Kanzu”.

Kukyaala or Official Visitation  is a practice carried out in Buganda(central uganda) where a woman and a man who have been in courtship for a reasonable time decide to make it official to the entire family ( the man comes to the girl’s family to request for her hand in marriage), If the father says yes(his reply can be after days or month),the next ceremony that happens after this, is the introduction/traditional wedding where the girl is engaged to the man(with a sign of the ring) and later Church wedding.

This Visitation ceremony is crowned by eating ,giving of gifts to the girl’s family and finally taking of photos.

Ofcourse the answer was a YES . So am looking forward to the traditional and Church weddings soon.

So this was a turning point in my life in this year 2015 and am so thankful to God that he made it happen succesfully and i have faith that even the wedding will take place in Jesus’ name.
